So buddy points are now history and daily token for checking in cannot be visibly timed like it was for buddy chat. At least some game sites tell you how much time until next point earning. And maybe we should consider OC a game...
If your utility company website shows your use for that ohmhour period, then I would not trust Ohmconnect saying they are waiting for the data from the utility company. Ohmconnect is more likely having cash flow problems and using payment delays to compensate. Ohmconnect can profit from getting money from green button program, holding onto it, and delaying payments for weeks or maybe will be months. Whomever authorized Ohmconnect to start their business should have written in rules to prevent them from playing the float.
I have turned off everything but my refrigerator and freezer for every Ohm Hour, and my energy use has been consistently negligible. The OH folks ended my streak when they gave me a forecast of -0.666 kWh. I'm done sitting in the dark and cold -- it ain't worth it.
Any chance of adding another field? I would love "next_start" and "next_end" fields that listed the date and time of day that the next scheduled Ohm Hour happens. It would keep my software from having to load the XML file every minute - just check once per day or so.
For those who are curious about other uses, I have two:
1) I have an old hot tub that I've put a solar hot water collector on. I've recently integrated a Raspberry Pi to determine when to use the electric back up heater and I've got it checking this URL every minute when it would otherwise be turning on the electric heater.
2) I've converted a 1975 Porsche 914 to electric. I prefer to charge in the evening because I often watch the battery voltages during charge to look for weak cells. I plan to put a Raspberry Pi into it as well so that it can pause the charging automatically during an Ohm Hour (among other reasons to pause like the batteries are getting too warm).
reach out to pge. They have programs for low income. I qualified and they repaired things in the house, gave me LED lights, and a new fridge. My neighbor got a new stove as well Beyond that, if you are on their online program you can review where your energy was used hour by hour, it may give you a better picture of how your power is used.
Hello @Kimberly McDermott
It's not just SCE users....for the first time in a LONG time, SDG&E users also appear to be impacted by this. My data is there and available to download so there should be no issue with OC getting it. There is nothing missing. Last event for me was 7/15 and it hasn't scored yet....it's usual to wait a day or 2 for us so something is up.
The troubling thing to me is that my normal avenues for getting this resolved are remaining tight lipped...they have basically gone dark and are not responding to emails. If I had to guess, I'd say something is broken and it's "all hands on deck" trying to fix it....
