when flipping my breakers, I need to leave the one that my DSL modem is connected to right?
If you're wanting to use smart devices then you will need to find a way to keep your wifi powered through an OhmHour.
In order to flip the breakers and still keep the modem going, I was considering getting a battery backup that has enough backup power to keep my modem going through the Ohmhour... but haven't researched it yet.
@Cherie20, why would you need your modem on? OC can't reach smart devices that don't have power themselves. On the other hand, are your breakers switching-device rated? How does the manufacturer feel about their breakers being used on a regular, somewhat frequent basis like this? Do you know whether OC has contacted any of the manufacturers to get their input as to whether this is a good idea?
