Why don't you offer connection to sensei smart thermostats?

@katharine dixon, the Save Power Days program and OhmConnect are competing Demand-Response programs. SCE has decided to work with Sensei as one of the devices they control in their program, even though I don't believe the Sensei device has a very high percentage of market share. OhmConnect has chosen different models which they will control for their events. When OC is controlling devices of SCE customers, SCE is not involved at all. Each company chooses who they want to work with and their decisions are independent of whom other competing programs have chosen. Over time, I would imagine OC's list will have additions, but I would suggest that now is not the time to expend resources in that direction. I would imagine they track requests for new devices to be added to all smart device lists, so you might want to ask the Support team to consider Sensei in the future.
The only function currently provided by OC at this time for thermostats is the on/off control. Therefore, you can achieve the same functionality without control of your thermostat. All you need is to put one of the approved smart switches on the outlet into which your furnace is plugged.

@katharine dixon, are you planning on signing up for the Save Power Days program at SCE? Since both OhmConnect and the Save Power Days programs are Demand-Response programs, I don't believe you can be enrolled in both. Also, you say "ohm is connected to SCE" . . . what do you mean by that?
I meant that with ohm I provided my sce information. So if you work with sce for energy savings, why aren't we able to connect smart thermostats that are recognized by sce.
And in terms of you providing OC your SCE info and OC working with SCE for energy savings, that's only to verify that you are an SCE customer that qualifies to sign up for OC's program, and to confirm you're not on another competing program.
@katharine dixon - We aren't able to integrate with Sensei right now, but we DO support both Nest and Honeywell!
As @That Son Of A Bitz and others have mentioned, we are separate from SCE. We support different products than SCE will.
old topic i know, but i tried connecting my wink, which has sensi connected, and ohmconnect tells me there's nothing available. if we can connect wink, you guys should be able to control the sensi
We haven't worked with Sensi yet, but always looking for potential partners!
Yes, please add support for Emerson Sensi thermostats.
It would be nice if there were any OC-compatible wifi thermostats that do not require a C-wire. I live in an apartment and cannot modify the furnace, so I cannot install the Wiserair or any of the other units that require the C wire.
Are you certain you need it?
Have a read of this:
https://smartthermostatguide.com/thermostat-c-wire-explained/
Perhaps you could install the "Venstar Add-a-Wire adapter"
https://smartthermostatguide.com/c-wire-venstar-add-a-wire-adapter-review/
So my question is in regards to the WiFi or smart thermostats, can I use any brand and connect it to OhmConnect? Or can I only use the brands you guys sell? There are a lot of lower cost options available (Kono looks nice for instance) that aren’t the big boys, and frankly these things are all quite pricey still, especially when newer homes have numerous zones to replace.
Thanks for the feedback!
Apparently not. Sensi is much more affordable than all the other options. Please add it.
If you to to Devices in the OhmConnect menu, then click on the drop down menu to see which smart Thermostats they are currently working with.
